FAQ
Do you only eat steak?
Some people do eat only steak (and salt and water…. and that is it), but the price of steak has gotten really high in the summer months so I’ve added brisket, roasts, ground beef and lamb to the rotation of my main course meals and have chicken, duck or seafood on the side for some variety.
Do you get tired of steak?
Every steak I eat is still the best thing I’ve eaten in a long time.
What about vitamin C?
I actually don’t need as much now that I do not eat processed foods or carbohydrates. I take some vitamin C for immune support to prevent getting sick (as I’ve always done) – but there are many people on this diet who do not take any supplements
What about Salt and Electrolytes?
I do supplement, you don’t want to skimp on salt on this diet, Redmond real salt and pink Himalayan sea salt are my favorites. I also take potassium citrate and magnesium.
Do you poop?
Less than I used to when I ate the Standard American Diet – but I have no issues there – things work great.
Do you work out?
I lift weights every second day, go for walks and use the eliptical.
Is grass fed organic beef the way to go?
If you can afford it, sure, it is great (and free of hormones and antibiotics). I personally don’t go to the extra expense. It has been said that if grass fed beef is 100/100 on the nutrition scale – then the store bought beef is still 95/100
Are you always hungry
I don’t get hangry like I used to now that I do not eat carbs and I can skip a day of meals (which I try to do at least once per month for the many health benefits of fasting)
Do you eat any vegetables
I eat a little sauerkraut each day for my microbiome but I don’t eat any other vegetables (the toxins in vegetables – oxalates, lectins etc – cause inflamation issues for many people)
This cant be sustainable, can it?
There are many people who have been doing this kind of diet for 20 years and are in great health. One woman from Alberta has done it for over 60 years and looks like she is in her 40’s. Weighing 427 lbs like I used to and eating processed foods and sugar wasn’t going to be sustainable for me either.
What about Gout
This diet has cured my gout actually. I suspect oxalates, sugar and poor metabolic health were the cause of the gout I used to get frequently.
What about Cholesterol
Cholesterol is actually required for good health, both LDL and HDL. I haven’t had my cholesterol tested in years and personally would not take medications like statins if it was suggested.
